genre conventions                                                                                                                                                            In the Bridge, there was many different codes and conventions which made the audience aware it was a typical crime drama. For example, the use of iconography. There was things such as police uniform, guns, police cars, laptops, evidence bags, handcuffs and many more which automatically stand out to the audience that some form of crime is happening or will take place. The settings aswell are very conventional, for example, the murder scene, the police station, prision, interview room, lab and many more. There are also elements such as low-key lighting and empthasis on the camera angles which seem very discreet however alot of typical crime dramas tend to contain them.

genre conventions of Nordic Noir                                                                                                                                Nordic Noir, is a genre of crime fiction which is usually written from a police point of view. In the bridge, we can see that Nordic Noir can be applied. There are many different conventions which shows us this. For example, the style and settings. The style of the episode is very low lighting which is typical of a Nordic Noir as it shows a sense of eeireness. The settings is also iconic of Nordic Noir as there is a bridge combining two cities where an inccident happens between the two, signifying this bridge. However, there are also elements which challange a Nordic Noir. Which suggest that maybe the bridge is a hybrid of police drama and film noir. The specific trates of a Nordic Noir is to combine standard crime drama to a text however sometimes their approach is to create something competley different from the norm. For example, there is two strong female roles as leading characters which is unconventional of a typical crime drama. This shows that not everything in a crime drama has to fit the standards and sometimes having some difference will infact be more intresting for the audience.

summarise the main character of saga                                                                                                                  Saga is the lead investigator in this series of the bridge. We, as an audience, are aware that Saga is a challanged induvidual however she loves her job and what she does and is infact good at it. She is a blunt induvidual and doesnt understand jokes, often also incapiable to form relationships with those around her. However, it is clear that Saga has Aspergers syndrome, which is a form of autsism. This allows her to be more dedicated as well as smart and proves to everyone around her that she has a professional mindset, over a personal mindset. She is work focused.

narrative                                                                                                                                                                      The narrative of the bridge is a multi-strand narrative, over a single-strand. This is due to the fact that we have more than one storyline occuring in the space of just one episode. For example, at the very start of the episode we are welcomed by a dead body sat at a dinner table, which seems to be abanonded. Whilst investigating this, there is also other elements occuring such as people running away and a guy sleeping wth women to find out infomation. However, at the end of the episode, none of the story lines are resolved but we are set up with the narrative which will be followed in the episodes to come. The narrative is also very resticted as we're unaware of the resolution for these stories by the end of the epiosde. We always find out infomation at the same time as the detectives, not before of after they do. Everything remains unsolved, but we are always one step closer by the end of the episode to solving the resolution.
